In the late 1990s I made a few fonts which were distributed for free from a previous incarnation of this site. That put me on someone’s radar, because in 2001 I was invited to contribute a symbol font for inclusion in a book on the subject, The Designer’s Guide to Symbol & Icon Fonts Online (dingbat font Astound Dings; pp. 20–21, 109). The font was available commercially from Garage Fonts until 2022, when the owner, Ralph Smith, passed away, and the type foundry changed hands.

Guess what? Today’s your lucky day! Astound Dings was never much of a moneymaker, so I’ve decided to make it available here as free swag, under the SIL Open Font License.
