When Twitter became X and was inundated with ads, I began blocking advertisers at every opportunity. I figured that maybe such a sisyphean task ought to be more rewarding, and that’s when I imagined a game—one that possibly functioned as an addon—that would award 1 point for each blocked advertiser account. Maybe accumulated points could be exchanged for digital swag; maybe there would be a daily/weekly/monthly leaderboard of top ad blockers. Maybe. That’s as far as it got before I had the thought, the game never ends, and there really are no winners.
